Overview (resum en anglès):
This Bachelor's Thesis proposes the design and development of a complete and highly accessible digital ecosystem, specifically intended to democratize technology and put it at the service of small businesses. The goal is to build a shared technological infrastructure where small shops can access modern management tools without having to bear the immense cost of developing them from scratch.
The project is divided into several key pieces that connect with each other to make daily operations easier. On one hand, it offers businesses a centralized management system based on free, open-source tools. Through this platform, each shop can easily manage its day-to-day operations. Furthermore, it allows for the creation of a unified loyalty program for all shops in the area, where customers collect points for their purchases that can later be redeemed for discounts. It also includes a tool for shops to organize in-person events, such as craft workshops or talks, bringing businesses closer to the community.
On the other hand, the customer experience is completely modernized through two very easy-to-use mobile applications. The first is a digital wallet, where the user stores their identity, always deciding which personal data to share in order to maximize privacy protection. The second app allows citizens to explore all the shops in their neighborhood using a map, carry their digital loyalty card in QR format, check their points, review their monthly purchase history, and sign up for local activities. When a user attends one of these events, they receive a digital credential on their phone as proof of attendance.
The results of this project demonstrate that it is entirely possible to bring the technology used by large corporations to local commerce through a shared digital ecosystem. With this collaborative model, the daily work of shopkeepers is streamlined, and the shopping experience for local residents is greatly modernized. Additionally, by grouping commercial activity, merchants' associations can observe general trends and make better decisions to support their members.
