| Overview (resum en anglès): | |
| Intermodal competition and sectoral integration between air transport and high-speed rail constitute a fundamental strategic axis for the ecological transition and decarbonization of short- and medium-haul passenger corridors. This project quantitatively addresses this challenge through the development of an aggregate demand simulation model based on the mathematical formulation of Generalized Cost (GC). The literature review establishes the operational foundations of seamless travel, demonstrating how the mitigation of out-of-vehicle time (OVT) through commercial and logistical synchronization transforms the railway into a strategic complement (feeder) capable of alleviating congestion at major international hubs. The parameterized analytical model enables the assessment and comparison of the systemic impact of two opposing public intervention strategies: a fiscal policy directly penalizing commercial aviation emissions (push scenario) versus an infrastructure investment policy aimed at reducing travel time aboard the train (pull scenario). | |
