| Activity plan:
1) Review existing software tools for machine learning, with special focus on existing free-software. 2) Determine suitable approach for the implementation of machine learning software targeted to investigate the climatology of ionosphere fluctuations. The study will be performed based on a data base of ionospheric activity indexes of different type. 3) Explore performance of the implemented tool to characterize ionospheric fluctuations in different locations for a period of several months. 4) Report on the main results obtained and report on limitations and advantages from the experience based on the machine learning tool. |

| The student is expected to work on this project on a part-time basis.
Previous knowledge of the following topics, although not mandatory, is advisable: 1) Ionospheric activity indexes derived from GNSS measurements. Solar and geomagnetic activity indexes. 2) Machine learning techniques. 3) Programming and basic statistical tools. |
