Overview (resum en anglès): The aim of this study is to analyse and validate the agronomic data collected by a mobile robot in
an agrivoltaic trial carried out within the SYMBIOSYST project during the autumn 2025 growing
season at Agròpolis. The study focuses on assessing whether the data obtained by the robot are
consistent and useful for interpreting crop development under different experimental conditions:
open field, semi-transparent photovoltaic modules and opaque photovoltaic modules.
To do so, an initial process of reviewing, cleaning and structuring the original database was carried
out. This process made it possible to remove inconsistent readings, out-of-range values,
incomplete data and variables that did not show sufficient robustness. Subsequently, indicators
such as NDVI, 3D NDVI, detected area, relativised temperature and relative humidity were
analysed, comparing their temporal evolution, differences between sections and the possible
edge-centre effect.
The results show that NDVI, 3D NDVI and detected area present patterns that are consistent with
crop development. Area and 3D NDVI indicate a trend towards greater surface development in
the control area, while the sections with photovoltaic modules show some differences associated
with radiation availability. A possible edge-centre effect was also observed, especially in NDVI at
the end of the growing season.
In this work, Deliverable D5.5 of the SYMBIOSYST project is also used as a reference document, a
technical report that gathers the results of the first year of activity of the project's agrivoltaic
demonstrators. Specifically, this document includes the agronomic characterization of the autumn
2025 campaign at Agròpolis, with direct crop measurements such as height, diameter, biomass,
fresh weight, and dry weight. Overall, the data collected by the robot can be considered useful for
detecting coherent spatial and temporal behavioural patterns within the trial, although they
require a prior data-cleaning process and must be interpreted while taking into account the
limitations of sampling and georeferencing.
