Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El canvi climàtic representa un dels principals reptes actuals pel sector vitivinícola. L'augment de la temperatura, la variabilitat de les precipitacions i la major freqüència d'episodis extrems poden alterar el desenvolupament fenològic del raïm i la seva composició química, afectant a la qualitat del producte final. Aquest treball té com a objectiu avaluar els efectes del canvi climàtic sobre els principals paràmetres agronòmics i enològics de la vinya utilitzada per a la producció de cava, a la zona del Penedès. L'estudi pretén analitzar l'impacte d'aquests canvis en la qualitat del raïm i identificar possibles estratègies d'adaptació per garantir la sostenibilitat i competitivitat del sector vitivinícola del Penedès.

Overview (resum en anglès): Climate change is one of the major challenges facing Mediterranean viticulture, as increasing
temperatures and changing precipitation patterns can affect both grapevine phenological
development and grape yield and quality. In this context, the aim of this study was to analyse
the relationship between climatic conditions and two key viticultural variables, yield and
potential alcohol content, in municipalities of the Penedès Designation of Origin (DO Penedès)
during the 2020-2024 period.
The study began with a descriptive analysis of the database, allowing the characterization of
observations according to year, municipality, and grape variety. Subsequently, several
bioclimatic indices (Winkler Index, Huglin Index, and Cool Night Index) were calculated to
describe the climatic conditions of each growing season. The analysis also included the
evaluation of grapevine phenological stages; however, the high proportion of missing data
prevented their inclusion in the subsequent stages of the study.
Finally, the relationships between climatic variables and vineyard production variables were
analysed using correlation analysis and linear regression models. The results showed that,
although some temperature-related variables were significantly associated with yield and
potential alcohol content, the strength of these relationships was generally weak.
Overall, this research provides a first assessment of the influence of climate on viticultural
production in the Penedès region and highlights the need for more comprehensive datasets
and the inclusion of additional explanatory variables to improve the predictive performance of
statistical models.
